One of my favourite Chinese restaurants in Manchester is Ocean Treasure 235 located by the Great Northern and found at the entrance to Manchester 235 Casino. Throughout the years I have been going there, I have never been disappointed!

The interior has an oriental elegance that could be found in a Bond film, and I think the restaurant plays on this theme. I have always found the service to be top notch, and super friendly as we are guided to our seats and our orders taken.

My preferred dish is the crispy shredded chili beef with rice, and from Ocean Treasure, it is absolutely amazing! The best I've had in Manchester! the beef is truly crispy and the sauce has a nice spicy kick to it and a little veg adds to that oriental flavour. Perfect!

As it had been a while since we visited Ocean Treasure, we really wanted to have the food again, but rather than visiting the restaurant on this night, we thought we would try  Deliveroo. Deliveroo is a service that partners with restaurants to collect your favourite dishes and deliver them by bicycle to you for a small fee. How brilliant is this?! The list of restaurants working with Deliveroo in Manchester is growing and it is all the best places. These are restaurants that don't have delivery or necessarily takeaway service, but offer such a service through Deliveroo. My experience has been very positive and I would use them again and again and again, especially when it is raining in Manchester (which is often!) and I don't want to leave the comfort of my home.

Located on the right hand side as you walk inside 235 Casino from Watson Street not the Great Northern entrance to cinema.

The service was attentive but it is very funny on how there are 2 menus. One in english and one in chinese. They do hotpot too but this is not advertised in the english menu. If you had Hotpot before and love it then ask for chinese menu and use google translator if you can't bring a chinese friend along. Lol

We ordered a mixture of food. Char Sui buns (roastpork), Curry braised beef, 5 spices pork with tofu, deep fried prawns coated in salted duck egg sauce, seafood noodles (crispy base) and mixed seafood fried rice. The costs came to £65.50. There were 3 ppl for this meal but there were still plenty left. The prawns were the best for me but it was a bit expensive in terms of value. It was a good place to take families for special occasion and I would take my family there. I gave it a three stars because the tofu was a bit too dry for me and char sui buns were average and tad overpriced for a dim sum dish ( £4.50 for 2 buns). Overall service was 4 stars, 3 stars for food, 3 stars for value.

I was there with a date. The atmosphere is nice and the service is impeccable. If you want to impress your partner with a classy treatment it's a safe shot.

Food was nothing remarkable. The house suggested a duck stuffed with prawns: besides being the worst combination ever possible in terms of taste, the result was rather dry and the sauce was uhm. My date had noodles, too spicy and overall not better than the 4£-takeaway standard. Dim sum starters were good though.

There were annoying flies all around our table for the entire night, probably infesting the wooden wall our table was next to.

My most expensive dinner in manchester was disappointing.

Entrance is on the ground floor of the less busy Watson Street, near the Casino (where you can see 'Casino' flag). NO Need to go into the cinema building! Took ages to find the restaurant... Hotpot really nice though!
